The report on travel and tourism stressed the importance of looking beyond the recession
Andorra, March 7, 2011 - the Switzerland, the Germany and the France benefit from environments most conducive to the development of the travel and tourism sector, says the fourth Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Report (report on competitiveness in the travel and tourism sector), published today by the World Economic Forum on the occasion of the Global Tourism Forum 2011 (GTF) organized in Andorra. The Austria, the Sweden, the United Kingdom, the United States, the Canada, the Spain and Singapore complement the classification of the first ten places.
Published under the title "Beyond the downturn" ("beyond"), the 2011 report expressed cautiously optimistic prospects and presents the many difficulties facing the industry and that it must overcome to ensure solid growth in the future. It is evident to the topics included in the analytical chapters on issues such as the impact of the recent financial and economic crisis on tourism, the importance of the competitiveness of the prices to attract tourists and the major role played by the sector travel and tourism in the emerging green economy.
